Nailing a consistent meditation practice has changed my life in 5 key ways...

🪷 Managed my social anxiety
I used to overanalyze every social interaction and relied on alcohol/substances to numb the discomfort of being around new people. Meditation helped me acknowledge the discomfort and be with myself even in moments of inner tension.

🪷 Less rumination & spiraling
Meditation encouraged me to practice pausing between thoughts and catch myself when I've trailed off into a negative thought pattern. The simple practice of returning to my focal point helped decrease anxiety spiraling over time and recognize when those thoughts do not serve me.

🪷 Detached perspective
Attachment is the root of suffering Buddha says, and stepping outside of myself to see things as they are helped me detach from toxic narratives. Our ego mind wants to make the whole world about us, through stillness we begin to see life as an experience happening to us, not constantly defining us. "I am feeling angry, I am not an angry person."

🪷 Trust in myself and intuition
Meditation gives you the space to check in with yourself mentally, physically and spiritually. When you know exactly where you stand everyday, you can trust that you are capable of making the right decision for YOU in each moment. Creating this dialogue with myself filters out the noise of the outside world to reconnect to the essence of my being & find my truth.

Without meditation I probably would not have taken the leap to do a Yoga Teacher Training, move across the country from my comfort zone or even do something that was completely opposite to my corporate job & college degree. Building this foundational inner trust reveals your own capacity for resilience and shows you that you have the power to create the life you have always dreamed of.
