Vibrational Yoga - Root Chakra

The Root (Muladhara) chakra is our foundation. Our sense of grounding, security and support in our basic needs like shelter, family and food. Associated with the color red, it’s located at the base of the spine, more specifically between the rectum and sex organs ❤️

Postures that engage the pelvic floor activate our mula bandha (root lock). The ability to ground and firm into the foundation within us can be found in many standing yoga postures.

Tree pose (Vrksasana) is a standing balancing asana. To get into it, shift your weight into one leg, then lift the other leg up and out to the side to place the foot on the inside of the calf or thigh (avoid the knee). Keep your spine long and send your gaze to a fixed point to help with balance. Your hands can be in a prayer position, or your hands can extend out, growing your tree branches. The long spine sends energy below to the root chakra as you find your stability in a one-legged pose, and notice the energetics of foundation when both feet are not on the ground.
