Simple Cacao Drink Recipe
Cacao ceremonies stem from ancient Native mesoamerican cultures as a ritual to breed gratitude, intention and connection to Higher Spirit.
This sacred plant has been used as medicine for centuries. This naturally energy boosting plant gives you clarity without the crash. When consumed slowly, you may feel an opening in the heart chakra, awakening your spirit. Since this plant comes from Mother Earth, it is nourishing with natural antioxidants & flavonoids which lower blood pressure.
When I use Cacao:
Starting a ceremony / sacred ritual (like a new moon ritual)
In need of an energy boost
Deepen my connection to Source
Recipe:
3/4 to 1 cup of non-dairy milk (oat milk, almond, soy)
4 tbps of raw cacao powder (Navitas is a brand I like) or shaved cacao from a block like the picture above (from Big Island Farmer’s Market)
dash of cinnamon
1 tsp coconut oil
sweetener of your choice (agave, maple syrup, honey)
Heat up the milk in a small pot
Once milk starts to warm, add in the cacao powder and cinnamon.
Whisk with love and intention as the ingredients start to combine
Once powder has dissolved add coconut oil and sweetener
Mix to combine and pour in a coup. Sip mindfully and with intention radiating gratitude to Mother Earth where the plant came from and opening to receiving the wisdom of the sacred drink.
